Although / even though / though adalah bentuk conjunction atau kata penghubung yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan dua anak kalimat atau klausa.

Despite

In spite of

Noun phrase adalah prasa/anak kalimat yang berfungsi sebagai kata benda

Although/even though/ though/despite atau in spite of adalah clauses of concession yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan perbedaan atau pertentangan kondisi/pengertian diantara dua kalimat.

Although/even though/ though/despite atau in spite of bisa ditempatkan di depan atau di belakang kalimat.

Contoh :

1. although he has a physical handicap, he has become a successful businessman

atau

2. despite/in spite of his physical handicap, he has become a successful businessman

^{noun phrase}

3. Jane will be admitted to the university although/even though/though she has bad grades

^{Subject + verb (she + has)}

atau

4. Jane will be admitted to the university despite/in spite of her bad grades

^{Noun phrase}

5. Although/even though/though the weather was very bad, we had a picnic.

Catatan : Bentuk tenses yang digunakan dalam although/even though/ though/despite atau in spite of bisa memakai apa saja, tidak mutlak terpaku hanya pada satu bentuk tenses.
